Hansi Flick is facing a difficult time as Barcelona manager after the Blaugrana suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Las Palmas. Leaving them with just one point from their last three football games.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick admitted his side’s defence lacked cohesiveness and attacking efficiency. As they suffered their first home defeat of the season after being defeated 2-1 by Las Palmas on Saturday. According to Diario Sport.UFABET
Flick is facing a difficult time as coach of the Blaugrana. Having picked up just one point from his last three games against Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo and Las Palmas. Most recently in which the Islanders suffered their first home defeat of the season.
‘I trust the players, I trust them, but things are the way they are. When I started here I told them there would be no excuses. It’s normal for some players to come back from injuries and not play at the highest level. But if we play as a team we should be able to beat any team. But if some players are not playing then it’s not good,’ Flick said.
The German coach does not believe their confidence issues have led to their recent decline, stressing that they have not been able to put as much pressure on as a team as they have in the past, leading to difficulties like those at Celta Vigo last week.
‘I don’t think the players are lacking confidence. Defence is not just about four defenders. One player cannot win the game. It’s always about the team. We need to have good connectivity in defence and attack, but today we didn’t have that.’
‘We had 70 per cent possession and had 27 shots. I don’t think we took advantage of the chances we had, even though we had the quality to do so.’
‘We have to change, we have to defend better. If you don’t score, it’s harder to keep a clean sheet. But it’s not just the defenders, it’s the whole team. We have to go back and reconnect.’
